  • one wish (poem)

If you call tomorrow, I will believe
Wishing on stars is the only way to
Dream, that I was a light-footed boy again
    Between the
    Sea capt'n green of
    Twisted trees,
    Adventuring
    .
    Consulting "treasure maps"
    In our diaries,
Our hopes prayed for El Dorado,
And we kept to the path we wandered on, despite
Wishing for anyone to take us home.

If you want to build this house with me,
    Oh, what a story--
This is how they will all remember:
Ours were the vines that weaved
    Together and outgrew the
Shaky jungle that held us close inside,
    Thank you for always kissing
My hand, when we swam in the clear waters
    Of the Amazon Basin;
    Our weightless silhouettes
    Singing to the delicate birds
    Making footprints
    The shapes of crosses
    In the sand.

    Everyone would know:
The conquistadors came in search of
    Gold, finding only where we
    Promised our
    Hearts to each other,
    Giving our
    R
    egrets away, before we even
    Knew
    What they were.

  • But what do you say to taking chances,
What do you say to jumping off the edge?
Never knowing if there's solid ground below
Or hand to hold, or hell to pay,
    What do you say,
    What do you say?

  • props to this fool

There's a blog I read from time to time, and I come back to it often because I feel as if this man is alot like me. A poet who isn't afraid to discuss his emotions to people who will listen, he has an eloquence with his words and reflection which I have yet to perfect. This is what he wrote, and at this time in my life, I am given a familiar feeling, reading his words.

    micromanaging.

I think I complicate my life.  I exert too much energy into things that I have no control over.  I don't know why I feel the need to try to micromanage every variable.  Maybe I'm a little worried that it will all come crumbling down around me if I don't take the initiative to keep it together.  I must remind myself constantly that its okay to let go sometimes.  That the World will not end if I don't try to turn it.

I have to have a little more faith, in all things, including myself.

    chino.
